Job Title: Fundraiser
Department: Fundraising
Reports to: Charity Manager
Position Summary
To raise funds to meet agreed targets and objectives and be responsible for identifying, engaging and winning new support as well as maintaining and developing existing support from businesses both local and national.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Provide excellent levels of customer service to all visitors, supporters, families and staff.
- To nurture, secure, develop and manage existing relationships with business supporters.
- Actively research potential new relationships, fundraising concepts and activities within the business/corporate community.
- Generate income to the agreed yearly target and ensure expenditure is kept within the agreed set budget.
- To be able to confidently conduct presentations to a variety of audiences.
- Attend any external meetings to discuss potential collaborations, future fundraising and events.
- To welcome and deliver an informative tour around Kites Corner to prospect and current supporters.
- Volunteer recruitment care and support to be provided in a nurturing and appreciative manner.
- To lead/assist existing fundraising events to increase support and income.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current and planned fundraising activities.
- To assist in the preparation of the design and distribution of fundraising materials.
- Attend events, as necessary (sometimes outside contracted work hours). Arrive prepared, always be polite, friendly and professional.
- To use the James Hopkins Trust agreed ‘Tone of Voice’ when corresponding in any manner on behalf of James Hopkins Trust.
- Work with all forms of Microsoft packages and each of the James Hopkins Trust social media platforms.
- Keep clear and informative records of all communications with supporters. Produce clear, legible and consistent documentation.
- Work closely with other departments within James Hopkins Trust as required.
- Ensure that all James Hopkins Trust and Fundraising policies are adhered to and maintained when dealing with all fundraising activities. This includes all transactions of donations, giving of receipts and personal acknowledgements as and when required.
General
- To carry out any additional tasks as reasonably requested in line with the general responsibility of the role.
- Maintain good working relationships with all charity staff, families, volunteers, supporters, suppliers and members of the general public.
- Maintain confidentiality in all areas of work at James Hopkins Trust.
- Respect, dignity and rights to privacy of children, young people and their families.
- Ensure that your conduct within and outside James Hopkins Trust is always appropriate and professional.
- Undertake training as required.
- Undertake any reasonable task requested by the Charity Manager/Trust Director.
- Carry out any other ad hoc duties that may be required from time to time to assist in the smooth running of the organisation.
