Job Title: Business & Events Fundraiser
Department: Fundraising
Reports to: Charity Manager

Job Purpose

To develop and maintain successful partnerships with corporate supporters, specifically through donations, sponsorship, employee fundraising and effective events management, in line with the Fundraising Strategy.

Key Tasks

  • To manage corporate partnerships to secure income for James Hopkins Trust
  • To research, approach, and secure new corporate partnerships
  • To work with the wider fundraising team to deliver and fulfil corporate partnerships through volunteering and event planning
  • Actively seek and secure sponsorship to support James Hopkins Trust events, working closely with the Fundraising Team.
  • To continue to raise the profile of James Hopkins Trust by networking at appropriate events and secure new introductions
  • To research and effectively manage fundraising events for James Hopkins Trust

 Communications

  • Contact and visit local businesses to promote ways to support James Hopkins Trust
  • Arrange and host visits to James Hopkins Trust for prospective supporter and corporate partners
  • Be a representative of James Hopkins Trust and speak at local business events about the work of the hospice
  • Liaise with supporters who are fundraising to ensure they have everything they need and attend events to support, where appropriate, including donation presentations
  • Contact corporate supporters who set up a Just Giving page to provide support for their fundraising
  • Liaise with the Trust Director and fundraising colleagues to manage external requests for publicity for fundraising events and activities that are being undertaken on behalf of James Hopkins Trust.
  • Support your fundraising colleagues in maintaining incoming communications, online fundraising platforms, social media feeds and associated communication tools.

Fundraising

  • Grow income from Corporate Fundraising through phoning, emailing, communication through social media and visiting local businesses and groups, supporting existing supporters and promoting new fundraising initiatives
  • Identify, secure, and develop new corporate partnership opportunities, focusing on Charity of the Year partnerships, corporate donations, sponsorship opportunities, employee fundraising, payroll giving and gifts in kind
  • Facilitate corporate engagement events with the aim of increasing brand awareness amongst local businesses and on-boarding more corporate supporters
  • Research, plan and implement new fundraising initiatives
  • Support our fundraising groups and supporters and generate publicity for their activities
  • Support our corporate donors and encourage their support and participation in our events and appeals
  • Foster new relationships and maintain existing relationships with corporate donors to encourage regular/long-term giving.
  • Utilise and continue to update the fundraising database with records of all communications with donors and potential supporters.
  • Ensure all supporters are thanked in an appropriate and timely manner and their donations are administered in line with fundraising procedures
  • Adhere to income and expenditure guidelines on corporate accounts managed
  • Handle general telephone and personal enquiries regarding donations or other fundraising issues
  • Respond to all donors appropriately with warmth and compassion.
