A Day to Remember at Our Family Fun Day
There was laughter, smiles and plenty of magical moments as we welcomed our James Hopkins Trust families to our first Family Fun Day.
The day was all about giving families the chance to relax, spend quality time together and simply enjoy being together without the pressures of everyday life. For many of the families we support, opportunities like this can be difficult to access, so creating a fun, inclusive and accessible day means so much.
Our guests were entertained by an incredible balloon modeller, who transformed colourful balloons into all sorts of wonderful creations, while a fantastic magician and ventriloquist kept the children and adults entertained with tricks, laughter and plenty of audience participation.
Children also enjoyed having their faces painted, becoming everything from superheroes and butterflies to tigers and princesses, adding even more colour to an already vibrant day.
No Family Fun Day would be complete without delicious food! Families tucked into Aussie-style fish and chips before cooling off with refreshing ice creams. Their kind donation was the perfect treat on a day filled with sunshine, fun and friendship.
More than anything, the day gave families the opportunity to make precious memories together. Siblings played, parents chatted and relaxed, and children enjoyed simply being children in a safe, welcoming environment where everyone understood the challenges they face.
At James Hopkins Trust, we know that respite is about so much more than providing care. It’s about supporting the whole family, reducing isolation and creating opportunities for families to connect, laugh and make memories that will last a lifetime.
A huge thank you goes to everyone who helped make the day such a success- from our wonderful volunteers and entertainers to Walls for their generous donation of ice creams. Your kindness and support helped create a truly special day for the families we are privileged to support.
