It has been an honour and a privilege to be the first James Hopkins Trust apprentice and I feel so incredibly fortunate to be here as the charity reaches a fantastic 30 years!

Since September I have met so many incredible people who are all equally as passionate about creating magic memories for life-limited and life-threatened children in Gloucestershire.

As I near the end of my apprenticeship, I could write for days on why I have loved working at the Trust but to keep this story short, I would like to give two reasons. Firstly, it has been an absolute pleasure to witness the outstanding work of our nurses who excel in giving the best possible care for our children. It is both humbling and aspiring to observe the passion that they bring every day to help support our children and their families.

Secondly, I would like to give a big thank you to all the James Hopkins Trust children who never fail to put a smile on my face. It is still the highlight of my day welcoming our families to Kites Corner and above everything else, I will miss that the most. It is a joy working here knowing that everything we do helps to provide free nursing respite care for our families.

Working for James Hopkins Trust has been a truly remarkable experience and I look forward to seeing what the next 30 years bring!
