Ambassadors and Patrons

Ambassadors and Patrons make a significant contribution to a charity’s progress and success, whether that’s through innovative fundraising, generous pro-bono support or by championing the Charity across their networks.

Could you be a James Hopkins Trust Ambassador or Patron?

Charity Ambassador

A Charity Ambassador plays a significant role in enhancing the Charity’s visibility, engaging the community and driving fundraising efforts. The passion and commitment they demonstrate towards the Charity can significantly impact the success, helping to promote the Charity and share the good news of events and activity.

A Charity Ambassador will work to increase the public awareness of the work the Charity does, the initiatives it is involved in and events being held. This is done through various channels, including social media, public speaking or attending community events. They will act as a bridge between the Charity and the community and will engage with community members encouraging them to participate in events, support the Charity through volunteer opportunities and share fundraising campaigns.

A Charity Ambassador can either support fundraising by organising events, encouraging their contacts, associates and networks to donate and raise funds. The Ambassador may be asked to represent the Charity at private and public events, therefore, it is important that the views of the Ambassador align with the Charity’s values and mission. However, by sharing the personal connection to the Charity’s cause, Ambassadors can inspire others to get involved.

An Ambassador commits to regular communication with the Charity to help stay informed about upcoming events and initiatives to ensure accurate promotion of the Charity’s work.

Paige's Story

Charity Patron

A Charity Patron plays a crucial role in supporting and promoting a charitable organisation, helping to enhance its impact within the wider community. The level of the Charity Patron involvement can vary but the influence and support they can provide is invaluable.

Patrons often serve as the public face of the Charity, attending events, making public appearances and engaging with the media to promote the work of the Charity. They are not directly involved in the day-to-day operations, however, Patrons may participate in fundraising efforts.

A Charity Patron can leverage their personal and professional networks to attract more donors and volunteers, significantly enhancing the Charity’s outreach and impact. This could include hosting events, speaking at fundraising events, or soliciting donations from their wider network.

A well-known Patron can help elevate the Charity’s profile, making it more recognisable to the wider community and potential donors. A Patron may provide access to additional resources including funding, expertise and connections that can benefit the Charity. The level of involvement can vary widely with some choosing to be more active while others may take a more passive role, simply lending their name to the cause.

The impact this would make on James Hopkins Trust

  • Fundraising Support: Leverage their networks to boost donations and campaign efforts
