James Hopkins Trust to Benefit from X Factor Single

Local James Hopkins Trust Respite Centre to benefit from X Factor Finalists, One Direction and JLS Charity Single, ‘Wishing On A Star’
The 16 finalists from this year’s X Factor series, alongside boy band giants One Direction and JLS, will be releasing a charity single in aid of Together For Short Lives.
The artists will release their cover of the Rose Royce classic ‘Wishing On A Star’ via download on November 27th and via physical single on November 28th, on Syco Music.
Syco will donate 100% of its profits from the sale of each CD single and download to Together For Short Lives and along with 49 other organisations who support life-limited children and their families in the UK, the James Hopkins Trust is to receive a share of proceeds from the X Factor charity single.
This is expected to be at least £1 for each CD and 20p for each download. There are an estimated 23,500 children and young people across the UK unlikely to reach adulthood. Together for Short Lives is the only charity working to ensure that all of these children and their families get the best possible care wherever and whenever they need it.
Simon Cowell has worked closely with Together For Short Lives for many years and comments: "Having worked close hand with this charity and seeing the amazing work they do for kids and their families who need help and support, I am thrilled that the X Factor charity single this year will benefit this charity.’"
JLS say: "It's an absolute pleasure to have been invited by Simon to feature on the new X Factor charity single. Working with all the finalists and of course One Direction will be amazing. It's all for a great cause.”
One Direction say: "We're really excited to be singing on the X Factor charity single for a second year in a row. 'Together For Short Lives' is an amazing and important charity and we're honoured to be asked by Simon to help raise lots of money for them."
This year M&S will be stocking the single in stores nationwide; and follows the release of the M&S Christmas advert which also features the show’s finalists.
