Children In Need Grant 2011-2013

We are pleased to announce that we have been successful in obtaining a grant from BBC Children in Need to fund overnight respite care at Kites Corner for the next two years. Following requests from parents early last year, we obtained funding from the ASDA Foundation to convert and fully equip  a bedroom at our respite centre. We carried out a trial of providing overnight care for 2 children at a time every other Friday night. We provided this care from the Friday evening through to the Saturday evening, giving the parents a full 24 hour respite session. This proved very successful and requests for it's use remained high throughout the trial.

We then decided that we would like to meet that extra demand and to double the number of nights to include every Friday. We put a proposal together which Children in Need have approved. They are providing £53,599 over the 2 years to fund around two thirds of our overnight provision. So a very big 'thank you' to BBC Children in Need from all the families that will benefit from this overnight care over the next two years.
