Sensory Garden & Garden of Memories

Our Sensory Garden wins
‘Heart of England in Bloom 2005 Judges Personal Award’

Our unique garden built to entertain and inspire our disabled and seriously ill children has been awarded a special honour. Our garden was included in Gloucester’s entry in the Heart of England in Bloom 2005 competition and has been awarded the ‘Judges Personal Award’. The Glass plaque (above left) certificate and cheque was presented to Vance Hopkins, Trust Manager by the Mayor of Gloucester, Cllr Lise Noakes. The photograph (above right) shows the Mayor presenting the plaque to Vance Hopkins, along with Petina Fitchett who developed the original concept, Sharon Vickers from Chelsea Building Society who drew-up the detailed design, representatives from Shackell Landscapes who built the garden and from Work Opportunities West who currently maintain the garden to such a high standard. A very big Thank You to everyone involved with the garden’s development as without your contribution the final award winning garden would not have been possible.
