Aims

The aim of the Trust is to help severely disabled, life threatened and life limited
young children  aged 0 - 5 years in Gloucestershire, so that the quality
of their lives may be enriched.

This aim is achieved through three objectives:

1. The provision of domiciliary and residential respite nursing care

2. The provision of equipment specially adapted to the needs of the individual child

3. The provision of financial help for visits to specialist hospitals outside Gloucestershire

Although all three objectives have been fulfilled many times over, by far the most important and the most in demand is Respite Care. This is the cornerstone of the Trust policy and, for a growing number of families, it is a lifeline of desperately needed support.

In the last 14 years, the James Hopkins Trust has helped well over 300 children and familes in every corner of Gloucestershire, to the staggering amount of over 100,000 hours of nursing - free to those that desperately need it.
